FRIENDS AND FAMILY

 

The CPR for Family and Friends course targets all lay rescuers, such as school children, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. The course teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FSBO). It presents information about the Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking. The course also presents information about pediatric infant and children, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and the prevention of the most common fatal injuries in infants and children. A course participation card is provided to the participants at the end of this course, no written exam is required. $25.00 fee . Cash only please.

 

 

HEARTSAVER CPR

 

The Heartsaver CPR Course is designed to teach CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace. Although the course may be used to teach CPR to all lay rescuers, it is specifically designed for lay rescuers who are required to obtain a course completion card --- a credential--- documenting completion of a CPR course. All rescuers are trained in adult, infant and child CPR and foreign-body airway obstruction. If participants do not require a credential, they may prefer to take the Friends and Family course. A course completion card is provided to the participants at the end of this course if they successfully complete the written examination and the skills demonstration. $25.00 fee. CPR for Healthcare Providers

 

The Healthcare Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FSBO). It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings including in-hospital and out of hospital settings. These healthcare providers may include physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows or medical or nursing students in training, medical or nursing assistants, and other allied health personnel. The course is also designed for anyone who is required to take a healthcare provider course for employment. This course presumes that the skills learned will be used predominantly in a healthcare provider setting. All participants who complete the course should be able to demonstrate the skills of CPR, mouth to mask and bag mask ventilation, use of AEDs and relief of FSBO for the responsive and unresponsive victim. All participants, who successfully complete the course, including the written examination and skills demonstration will receive a BLS for Healthcare Provider Course completion card (credential). $25.00 fee.     • Continuous Chest Compression CPR

The continuous chest compression CPR is designed to teach the skills of CPR without ventillations to lay rescuers. Rescuers are trained  in adult continuous chest compression CPR, a course completion card is provided to the participants at the end of the course. $25.00 fee. Cash only please.
