American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Course
This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) course is the gold standard for healthcare professionals and those working in clinical or prehospital environments. It is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively in life-threatening emergencies involving cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or other critical situations.
This course is intended for licensed or certified healthcare providers such as EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physicians, dentists, and other allied health personnel who must be able to perform CPR and basic cardiovascular life support techniques as part of their job responsibilities. The curriculum includes high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); bag-mask techniques; and team dynamics in multi-rescuer resuscitation scenarios.
A current AHA BLS textbook is required for this course. Students must purchase the textbook prior to the class date, either in physical or digital format, and must show proof of purchase before class begins. This ensures that every participant has access to the complete and accurate course material in accordance with AHA policies.
Participants will receive an AHA BLS Provider certification card upon successful completion, valid for two years.
